Super excited to share that Khalsa Foundation are planning several retreats this year to support young people (10+year olds) as part of the DelveIn2YourKaur and SucceedAsASingh programmes in the Khalsa Learning Hub.

These retreats are organised by teachers who have ample experience in organising both regional, national and international schools trips for groups of students. The retreat will encompass sessions from the DelveIn2YourKaur and SucceedAsASingh course as well as many hands on interactive activities.

Spaces are very limited – Please complete the ‘expression of interest form’ below to add your child to the waiting list.

Past Events

Khalsa Foundations facilitated an online Christmas Sikhi camp where they paid, created and posted out STEM activity packs for 200 registered participants so that they could all engage in a STEM activity in real time with the same materials! No other Sikh organisation facillitated online activity for familes and children in 2020. See the promo trailer for the event here.

KLH hosted STEM sessions in 2021 where students were shortlisted in national STEM awards and 1 student won an overall award.

During summer 2021 KLH put a Key Stage 3 educational workshops for Computer Science, KS3 Maths and GCSE Maths for 4 weeks. Qualified teachers and specialists were recruited to deliver support sessions to the community via the Khalsa Learning hub.

KLH organised a VIRTUAL SLOUGH SUMMER SIKHI CAMP in collaboration with Khalsa foundation; Khalsa primary school and Singh Sabha Gurdwara Slough from 2nd to 6th August 2021. https://www.khalsafoundation.org//virtualsikhicamp STEM was included and parenting support sessions on advice around Technology and Online Safety was included in the offer of activities.

Again addressing the needs of the community and young people, KLH helped put together an outdoor summer extravaganza event for the summer Bank Holiday in 2021. This was an opportunity for young people to get together following such a long period in isolation and was scheduled at a time where absolutely no other organisation was hosting anything face to face. 2021 with COVID restrictions just beginning to be lifted for outdoors activities only, this was a very challenging undertaking and there was also a high uncertainty whether people would attend due to the COVID concerns. The day was hosted in a marquee and the open playing fields of Khalsa Primary School. Over 200 young people enjoyed an afternoon of structured team activities which included STEM challenges also. I helped design the trophies that were awarded for the winners.
